Whether dealing with freezing winter chills or scorching summer heat, this service delivers dependable thermal protection without interruption.
How to Request Blanket Wrap Service
When Blanket Wrap Service (BWS) is elected, OD-provided blankets are applied directly at the shipper's location, ensuring full oversight and preparation from the start.
All that’s required is a simple notation on the Bill of Lading:
- For BOL: Write “Blanket Wrap Service (BWS)" in the Accessorial Services Requested section.
- For eBOL: Select the corresponding accessorial.
Blanket Wrap Service (BWS) operates as part of our standard LTL network, meaning shipments move as they normally would—with no additional stops or delays at any location for any reason. This integration ensures your freight maintains the same excellent service levels and transit times you’ve come to rely on.
Additionally, the service eliminates pickup day restrictions. Whether weekday flexibility or last-minute changes are required, Blanket Wrap Service (BWS) enables you to ship according to your business’s specific needs.
For those concerned about loader freedom, this service comes with No Shipper Load & Count (SLC) restrictions, making it a great choice for shipments requiring flexibility.
Advance Preparation for Smooth Shipping
To maximize efficiency and ensure every shipment is handled with care, Blanket Wrap Service (BWS) requires advance notice of pickup. This allows us to coordinate logistics effectively, ensuring drivers arrive ready with the necessary materials to protect your freight from pickup to delivery.
It’s important to note that while Blanket Wrap Service (BWS) offers comprehensive thermal protection, it is not intended for Household Goods or Personal Effects shipments.
Additionally, it cannot be combined with our Protect From Freezing (PFF) service, which offers seasonal protection specifically for freezing risks from October to April.
