ODFL SOAP API Sunset – Transition to REST by December 31, 2025

Overview 

Old Dominion Freight Line will officially retire most SOAP API endpoints on December 31, 2025. To ensure uninterrupted service, all users must migrate to the current REST API endpoints. OD is here to help you with the transition. 

What's Changing?

The following SOAP APIs will no longer be supported after December 31, 2025.

If you are utilizing any of the following APIs, please migrate to the corresponding REST endpoints:

Please note: The Rate Estimate SOAP API is not included in the December 31st, 2025 sunset schedule, but is scheduled to be sunset later in 2026.

 

How Does This Benefit You?

Upgrading to REST APIs provides: 

  • Faster performance – quicker response times 
  • Advanced features – expanded functionality to support operations 
  • More security – modern protocols protect your data 

 

Key Sunset Date

  • December 31, 2025: The listed SOAP API endpoints will be retired

 

Coming Soon 

ODFL will soon release new REST Rate Estimate and REST Transit Time APIs to replace current SOAP versions. These APIs will not be part of the December 31st, 2025, sunset list, but customers should expect them to sunset in 2026.  

 

What You Need to Do 

1. Review your integrations and confirm which SOAP endpoints you are currently using. 

2. Share this update with your IT or development team to begin migration. 

  • If you use a TMS (Transportation Management System), contact your TMS provider directly to confirm their update plan. 

3. Transition to REST endpoints before the deadline.
