Important Information for Caribbean Shippers

If you ship to Puerto Rico the US Government rules for documents have changed. If the product value is in excess of $2,500, you now have to file a Shippers Export Declaration (SED). The SED must also be filed using the US Custom’s Automated Export System (AES). Failure to do so will cause shipment delay. The Foreign Trade division recently issued a program notice announcing that paper SEDs will not be accepted approximately after Fall 2004. The recent passing of the law mandates full electronic filing all export information that requires a Shipper's Export Declaration. Click here for further details and links to government sites

Calculating Cubic Feet

The total cube of a shipment is the total cubic feet or the volume in feet. Cubic feet are calculated by multiplying length x width x height of each piece or shipping unit. If this measurement is in inches, convert to feet by dividing by 1728 (the volume of inches in one cubic foot). For convenice, you may also use our cube calculator tool.
