Old Dominion Relocates and Expands Evansville Service CenterEVANSVILLE, Indiana (December 15, 2011) – Old Dominion Freight Line Inc. has relocated its Evansville Service Center to an expanded and upgraded facility, allowing the company to handle sustained growth in the region. The move is part of a $100-120 million investment that Old Dominion committed to real estate purchases and expansion projects in 2011. The new service center will increase the company’s freight capacity in Indiana, where tonnage is expected to grow nearly 60 percent by 2020 thanks to major infrastructure upgrades. “We’ve experienced significant growth over the last five years and anticipate that freight volume will continue to increase once Interstate 69 is completed to connect the entire state of Indiana to the NAFTA Superhighway,” said Dean Voegerl, manager at the Old Dominion Evansville Service Center. “The new facility, which is strategically located near Interstates 69 and 64, railroad yards and three ports on the Ohio River, will support our growth and help us continue to provide outstanding service to our customers who ship both domestically and internationally.” In addition to the Evansville Service Center, Old Dominion has a network of 215 terminals nationwide, three of which are in Indiana: South Bend, Fort Wayne and Indianapolis Service Centers. TThe service center, currently located at 2780 Kratzville Rd. in Evansville, will move to a 36-door expanded facility at 2225 Bergdolt Rd. in today.
