Old Dominion Opens Regional Command Centers to Support Global CustomersFour new centers better align staff and operations with customer needsCONTACTS: Todd DeFeo THOMASVILLE, N.C. (May 13, 2010) – OD-Global, a division of Old Dominion Freight Line Inc., is opening regional command centers in four strategic markets — Atlanta, Dallas, New York City and San Juan, Puerto Rico — to be in a position to better serve its global customers. The OD-Global command centers, located in existing Old Dominion offices, will be fully functional by mid-June and handle operations for OD-Global’s Northern, Southern and Gulf Coast regions as well as for Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The four new regional centers are in addition to OD-Global’s central command center in Thomasville, N.C. “These regional command centers will incorporate seamlessly with our existing infrastructure and worldwide network of agents to provide the most complete service offering in the freight forwarding industry,” said Greg Plemmons, vice president of OD-Global. “Most importantly, they’ll help us to streamline the flow of information as shipments move through the supply chain and better align resources and personnel with our customers.We expect these four centers to be the first of several new OD-Global offices to open this year as part of our promise to offer global customers the best service possible.” OD-Global offers seamless, reliable worldwide less-than-container load (LCL) and full-container load (FCL) services tailored to meet companies’ export and import, foreign to foreign or air freight needs.
