The North Carolina Trucking Association honors commercial truck drivers each year by conducting the Driver of the Year and Driver of the Month Contest. This annual event brings attention to a select group of truck drivers with exceptional safety performance records and longevity as a commercial driver. Each driver has to be selected as Driver of the Month during a previous year to be eligible for Driver of the Year. A commercial truck driver being awarded Driver of the Year is the highest honor recognized by the Association and these drivers are the transportation industries’ most outstanding.
