OD Introduces New Mass Upload Utility for Managing Shippers and Consignees

THOMASVILLE, N.C. (July 20, 2009) – In response to customer feedback, Old Dominion's web site, ODFL.com, has introduced a new utility for uploading shipper and consignee information used to create online bills of lading.

The Mass Upload utility enables registered odfl4me customers to easily upload shipper and/or consignee data, including name, address and phone number, from their own Excel spreadsheet or comma-separated (CSV) file.

A user guide provides file specifications and upload instructions, and once uploaded, the shipper/consignee information is stored permanently. Stored information can be easily modified or removed as needed.

When creating a bill of lading, customers can quickly select a stored shipper/consignee, greatly reducing the time required to manually key in that information.

This new utility may be accessed by all registered odfl4me customers in two ways:

  1. By logging into the Account Management page, selecting Saved Shippers or Saved Consignees, and then clicking on the Mass Upload link.
  2. When creating an online bill of lading, by clicking the Maintain list link beside a shipper or consignee list, then clicking on the Mass Upload link.
