Atlanta Is Next Stop On Old Dominion's 75th Anniversary TourCONTACT: Chip Overbey THOMASVILLE, N.C. (April 7, 2009) – Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. (OD) is celebrating its 75th anniversary with a 27-city road tour which includes a stop in Atlanta on April 8, 2009, featuring a customized truck with interactive displays outlining the company’s history. “The tour will help us share and celebrate our rich history with our employees and customers who are an important part of that history and our future. We’ve helped the world keep promises since 1934, and we look forward to continuing that legacy,” said Chip Overbey, Vice President of National Accounts and Marketing for Old Dominion Freight Line. The Atlanta Service Center, located in Conley, Ga., will host the 3rd stop on the tour. Customers and employees of Old Dominion’s nearby service centers, as well as invited guests, will have the unique opportunity to experience the interactive displays as they walk through the inside of the rolling museum. In addition, the festivities will feature food, games, outdoor activities and service center tours from 11:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. A website (www.od75.com) tracks the truck’s progress as it crosses the country, showing where the tour has been and where it is going. It includes video blogs and details about the rig, including construction photos that document the transformation of the trailer into a museum. The 75th Anniversary Tour Rig is powered by a 2009 Freightliner® DD-15™ Cascadia designed for greater fuel efficiency and cleaner emissions. The tour began at Old Dominion’s Miami Service Center November 16, 2008. The first year of the tour will be completed September 22, 2009, at the Service Center in Columbus, Ohio.
