Old Dominion Freight Line Inc. Introduces Expedited Rate Estimate ToolCONTACT: Steve Hartsell THOMASVILLE, N.C. (September 9, 2008) – Steve Hartsell, Director of Expedited Sales & Service for Old Dominion Freight Line Inc., announced an online expedited rate estimate tool for new and registered customers. The “On Demand” Time Specific Rate Estimate Tool enables customers to obtain immediate comparisons of standard and expedited rates and proceed with the shipping order if desired. With this new tool, customers can see the expected rates from the standard rate estimate screen as well as the Speed Service Banner “On Demand” screen on Old Dominion’s Web site. Customers simply enter origin and destination zip codes, class, and weight and the results will show standard rates and the Old Dominion expedited rates for one-day-earlier delivery by 10 a.m., noon or 5 p.m. Customers who choose a shipping time frame are given the option to fill out their contact information and are assigned a rate quote number to book an On Demand shipment. Once booked, a representative will contact the customer with pickup and routing instructions. “The customer never has to make the first phone call with our new On Demand Rate Estimate Tool,” said Hartsell. “We realize when our clients need expedited services, they want a provider who reacts quickly and helps make their job easier” Price estimates are based upon the time the freight is ready, and the delivery requirement requested by the shipper. This tool can be accessed through the Shipping Tools tab on Old Dominion’s Web site or on the Expedited Web page.
