Old Dominion Sponsors Bernard H. Thomas Student Leadership Academy

Davidson County students enhance leadership skills at weeklong program

THOMASVILLE, N.C. (June 2008) - Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc., (NASDAQ NN: ODFL), partnered with the Davidson County Education Foundation to sponsor the 16th Annual Bernard H. Thomas Student Leadership Academy. More than 100 rising 5th through 9th graders in the Davidson County School System attended the academy in Lexington, N.C. free of charge last month.

The academy is a weeklong series of classes and activities including team building, ropes courses, problem solving, exercises in goal setting and conflict resolution. This year students toured Old Dominion’s Greensboro service center. Old Dominion President and CEO David Congdon and Vice President of Human Resources Ken Ludwig spoke at the graduation ceremony.
