Old Dominion Unveils New Web-based Service to Track Shipments

THOMASVILLE, N.C. (July 7, 2008) - Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc., (NASDAQ NN: ODFL), today announced a Web-based shipment tracker called the Shipping Dashboard.

The Dashboard will allow registered customers to improve performance by monitoring the status of recent shipments through their “ODFL4Me” personal page on Old Dominion’s Web site. The Dashboard shows inbound, outbound and delivered shipment activity from the last 3-14 days of shipments and includes state-of-the-art technical features such as mouse-over/pop-up shipment status details, personalized sorting options and interactive updates.

“Our trucking professionals require an effective way to monitor their shipments,” said Wayne Capwell, Director of E-Commerce Applications of Old Dominion. “With the Shipping Dashboard, we provide a system that gives them the visibility they need to remain confidently in control.”

Additional Shipping Dashboard features include:

  • Account list of companies and locations associated with the User ID
  • Trace Shipment – allows the user to enter a Pro number and view the shipment status without having to leave the Dashboard
  • Shipment details – PO number, BOL number, shipper, consignee, origin, destination, pieces, weight, charges, status, estimated or delivered date
  • Links to available shipment documents
