Employment: Clerical: Pricing Inspector
It is the responsibility of the Weighing and Research Analyst to review shipments as they pass across the dock to verify the accuracy of descriptions and weight against bill of lading information. Analysts are responsible for encouragement of the reweigh program for all dock terminal personnel. Analysts are also responsible for any and all correspondence (both written and verbal), related to the administration of the local W&R program.
Responsibilities:
- Verification and application of correct NMFC classes and freight charges
- Training and motivation of terminal personnel in current W and I programs
- Understanding and applying customer’s contractual information in a real-time environment
- Completion of Bid request, Questionnaires and spreadsheets
- Creation of a positive image and reputation with both internal and external customers
Education:
- Minimum high school graduate.
Education:
- Strong knowledge of and familiarity with Old Dominion’s W and I program
- Strong operational background and knowledge
- Strong computer skills; Knowledge of Microsoft Office a plus
- Previous rating experience a plus
- Ability to self-motivate and self-manage
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to function under pressure and work on a tight schedule
- Willingness to work any shift (shift will be nights in some form, weekends predominately off).
- Willingness to travel on an extremely limited basis
